Site for Eyes was established in the year 2000 by consultant ophthalmic surgeon Mr Danjoux. As an NHS consultant, Mr Danjoux decided to open Site for Eyes as a private refractive surgery clinic within the Sunderland NHS hospital meaning all the facilities and expertise of the hospital are available to the clinic if needed.
From very first opening the clinic, Mr Danjoux’s vision was to provide the very best in refractive surgery by combining the latest technology with unbeatable patient care. To this day, Site for Eyes has continued to be an innovative clinic and is widely regarded as a pioneer in many of the new developments that emerge from the field of refractive surgery. Evidence of this is the fact that Site for Eyes was the first centre in the North East to offer intra-ocular surgery (both Refractive Lens Exchange and Phakic Implants) as an alternative for patients who were found to be unsuitable for laser eye surgery.
Site for Eyes was also the first clinic in the North East to use the revolutionary Multifocal and Accommodating intra-ocular lens implants to help patients reduce the need for reading glasses after surgery. It is this kind of pioneering spirit that has made our clinic so highly regarded in the North East.
At Site for Eyes we believe in offering all of our patients a personalised service and your surgeon will be with you every step of the way. Our surgeon is extremely approachable and will be happy to answer all your questions and concerns about any aspect of your procedure. We will only agree to perform your laser eye surgery when we feel happy that you are fully informed about all aspects of the procedure and understand exactly what to expect both during and after the surgery.
I actually am from Newcastle but decided to get my eyes lasered in Sunderland at Site for eyes after speaking with 2 work colleague who had their treatment there.
I saw the surgeon right from the start which gave me the confidence to go ahead with the surgery. I had Lasik and the results have blown me away. My vision seems even better now without glasses then it ever was with glasses! Not quite sure how that is possible! Thanks to Mr Danjoux and all his team.
