Skin Rejuvenation

Skin rejuvenationThe aim of skin rejuvenation is to improve not only the appearance but also the texture and feeling of the skin. Skin rejuvenation can be carried out on all parts of the body but it is typically the face that is treated. Over time our skin can lose its shine, tone and freshness and the most common reasons are as follows:

  • Age: This is by far the most common reason our face starts to sag and develop wrinkles. As we get older the amount of collagen in our skin starts to diminish and this has a negative impact on our appearance. Collagen is essential in maintaining a firm and wrinkle free complexion so as it diminishes so does the health of our skin. Unfortunately we cannot do anything about our age but thankfully we can improve the appearance of our skin with skin rejuvenation.
  • Sun Damage: This is one of the most common causes of premature ageing of the skin. Sun damage leads to sagging and wrinkles which makes us look older than we actually are.
  •  Lack of sleep: This can cause our skin to age especially if we have lack of sleep over many years.

Skin rejuvenation can be carried out on both men and woman and the aim of the treatment is to give you a younger looking and firmer face whilst still maintaining a natural appearance. Skin rejuvenation is generally achieved using a variety of different non-surgical treatments and a typical treatment programme would be as follows:
  • Skin tightening: Skin tightening is extremely effective at adding lost volume to parts of the face and also to reduce sagging and wrinkles. Skin tightening can also improve the contour of the face to give a firmer and more youthful look.
  • Omnilux light therapy: Omnilux light therapy is a recent development in skin rejuvenation that uses light to improve the appearance of the skin.
  • Microdermabrasion: Microdermabrasion is a type of deep skin exfoliation which helps stimulate the natural production of collagen which improves both the texture and appearance of the skin.

How Much Does Skin Rejuvenation Cost?

The cost of Skin rejuvenation will therefore vary widely depending on the combination of treatments that are required and this will be decided by your practitioner. The most common skin rejuvenation treatments and their associated prices are as follows:

  • Microdermabrasion: The typical cost is about £60 per treatment but you are likely to need at least 4 sessions to achieve the best results.
  • Omnilux light therapy: The cost of Omnilux light therapy is normally around £60 per treatment and 6 sessions are normally recommended.
  • Skin tightening: The cost of skin tightening is fairly expensive and you can expect to pay around £1000 for each treatment.

Other Factors Affecting The Cost of Skin Rejuvenation:

  • Extent of treatment: Depending on what exactly it is that needs treating the cost of your treatment is likely to vary. If your skin is in particularly poor condition then you are likely to require a more extensive treatment programme to achieve the desired results and naturally this will cost more.
  • Practitioner: A medically trained practitioner is likely to charge more than one that is not. As well as this a practitioner with a good reputation is likely to demand a higher price for their services.
  • Your age: Younger skin generally responds better to treatment than older skin and this will mean fewer treatments will be required to achieve the same results.
  • Location: Prices are likely to be higher in bigger cities and in areas that are affluent.
