Obagi Blue Peel
Obagi Blue skin peel is a recent development in skin treatment and has many benefits including acne treatment
and blemish removal. Although it has its limitations it can also be used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Obagi Blue peel is a non-surgical procedure and is classified as a chemical peeling treatment
. It can be used on most areas of the body including the face, back and chest.
The aim of the treatment is to remove your old and damaged skin cells so they can be replaced by healthy new cells which will improve your complexion.
How Does Obagi Blue Peel Work?
The peel itself consists of a chemical called Trichlororoacetic acid (TCA) combined with blue Glycerine. The TCA acts to remove the old and damaged skin cells whilst the blue Glycerine ensures that the depth of the peel can be controlled. It normally takes around 15 minutes to apply depending on how many layers are required. Once the Obagi Blue peel process has been completed you will normally be left with slightly blue skin. This typically washes out within 24 hours so you don't need to be worried! Your skin will then begin to peel within about 3 days and this peeling normally lasts for around 3 days. Expect your skin to be fully healed after a maximum of 10 days. At this point you should notice a definite improvement in the appearance of your skin. It should look healthier, smoother and more youthful. The appearance of your skin should continue to improve over the next 6 weeks after which time the results will be at their optimum

This will depend on the appearance of your skin and how well you respond to the initial peel. Most people require around 1 – 3 treatments to get the desired results and peels can be performed at 8 week intervals. During a consultation your practitioner will assess the condition of your skin and advise you on the amount of peels you will need to get the best results.
